Trish Rittgers’ journey from her hometown of Belleville, Illinois, to Dallas, Texas was a pivotal moment in her life and career. It was in Belleville that she laid the foundation for her nursing career, earning a Diploma in Nursing from Lutheran Medical Center School of Nursing in St. Louis, Missouri, in 1998. The move to Dallas marked the beginning of her professional career, as she joined Children’s Medical Center of Dallas, where she would spend the next 24 years caring for pediatric patients.
During her time at Children’s, Trish’s commitment to patient care was unwavering. She worked in multiple areas, starting with inpatient gastroenterology/general pediatric, then moving to day surgery, and finally settling in a multidisciplinary primary care clinic. In this clinic, she treated a variety of patients, from premature, low-birth-weight infants to children affected by HIV, and those who have been victims of abuse and neglect in the foster care system. Her dedication to providing the best care for her patients has always remained her top priority. This dedication led her to make the decision to further her education, returning to the University of Texas at Arlington to advance her skills and knowledge.
Trish completed her Master of Science in Nursing Degree, obtaining her Primary Care Pediatric Nurse Practitioner certification in 2019. Trish joined Kid Care Pediatrics in October 2024.
In her spare time, Tish enjoys spending time with her family, playing board games, watching movies, and documentaries, entertaining guests and family, and traveling. She also enjoys watching hockey, the Dallas Stars, and any sports team her two younger sons are playing on.
Trish looks forward to joining the medical team and meeting the patients and families of Kid Care Pediatrics.
about Our Team
I like when the doctor/nurse/PA make recommendations to my child about how to improve her health. She listens to the doctor.
We were bringing our newborn in for a dr visit. The front office staff allowed us the opportunity to wait in the car outside & fill out the necessary paperwork. They also called my husband on his cell phone when it was time for us to go back to see the nurse & doctor. We appreciated this so much because we did not want our newborn to be around anything that could make her sick at 5 days old.
Our family always receives great service! Thank you Dr. Leffel & Team
