Kelli Marcella grew up in the small town of Moss Point, MS. After high school she attended community college and earned her associate degree in applied sciences in Medical Laboratory Technology. From there, her journey took her far and wide including studies at the University of South Alabama as a Biology major and earning her Bachelor of Arts in Education as a Science Teacher at the University of North Florida in Jacksonville, Florida. After a year living in Japan teaching English to Japanese school children, she returned to Mississippi and began her nursing studies.
Kelli earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Southern Mississippi in 1994. Soon after graduating, she moved to DFW where she began her career as a nurse in pediatrics at Lewisville Medical Center. She earned her Master of Science in Nursing in Child-Health Nursing at the University of Texas at Arlington in 1998 and became a Certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner (PNP).
She moved with her family to Phoenix, AZ where she first worked as a PNP making house calls at foster and group homes. She then worked at Mendy’s Place, one of the first Pediatric Urgent Care centers in the country. She eventually moved back to DFW and has been here ever since.
In the years since returning to DFW, Kelli has gotten to know much about Denton and Tarrant counties by first working for Cook Children’s Physician Network in Grapevine for 2 years then at Nuby Pediatrics in Denton for 8 years. She then moved on to far eastern Tarrant County where she worked at Pediatric Center in Grand Prairie for 4 years. Kelli joined Kid Care Pediatrics in April of 2023.
Kelli is certified as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner in Primary Care and is a member of NAPNAP, the national and local organization for pediatric nurse practitioners. The two things she enjoys most about being a PNP are getting to know the patients and their families and getting to teach about a wide variety of health care and parenting topics.
Kelli lives with her husband and two fur-babies, Atlas and Jack, in rural Wise County. They are parents to 5 adult children – 3 hers and 2 his – and have one granddaughter. They are active in Martial Arts and love hiking, camping, trail biking, and backpacking.
about Our Team
I have been nothing but pleased with this office and all staff we have dealt with. We have 4 kids and have been to a few different doctors. This office is by far the best. I have and will continue to recommend. Thanks you!
It was our first visit, and on a day when the power was out. It could have been complete chaos, but things were surprisingly organized given the circumstances. The doctor and staff were great. We will come back.
We are very happy with Kid Care Pediatrics. Prompt and appropriate care always.
